What is power skiving?

Power skiving is a modern method of gear cutting that allows manufacturers to produce internal and external gears quickly and accurately. It is a gear machining process that combines elements of both gear shaping and milling. The process involves two gears, slightly tilted against each other, removing materials from the tooth flanks of the gear whilst the piece is rotating.
